Plus: - Mark your calendar for October live sessions - Explore the Stickler Saboteur Guide - Join PQ Connection: Global After Hours ### Editor’s Letter *Last month we explored how AI is reshaping the future of coaching, and why mental fitness may matter more than ever.* *This month, we’re turning that conversation inward. Before we can help others create meaningful shifts, we need to keep strengthening our own capacity to access Sage, stay present, and put the PQ operating system into practice.* *October is an invitation to reconnect with the human advantage you bring to every coaching conversation. There are capacities technology can support but cannot replace, and at the heart of that is human connection.* *Keep reading to catch up on what happened in the September live sessions and mark your calendars now for what’s to come this month.* *Looking forward to the season ahead.* --- ### Live Session Highlights **Mental Fitness and the Future of Coaching in the Age of AI** Last month, Shirzad Chamine and Romina Piersanti joined PQ Coach members for a timely conversation on *Mental Fitness and the Future of Coaching in the Age of AI,* discussing what rapid technological change could mean for coaches, clients, and the future of the profession. A central theme of the session was the **difference between linear and exponential change**. While human intuition is naturally wired to expect gradual progress, AI is developing at a much faster pace. That acceleration can create uncertainty and activate Saboteurs, especially when change feels difficult to predict or control. Shirzad encouraged coaches to view this moment through a different lens: **mental fitness may become even more important as AI advances**. As technology takes on more analytical, administrative, and pattern-recognition tasks, distinctly human capacities such as empathy, curiosity, creativity, presence, and meaningful connection become increasingly valuable. For coaches, **the opportunity may not be to compete with AI, but to learn how to work alongside it**. AI can offer speed, synthesis, accessibility, and a lower barrier to entry for people who may not yet be ready to work with a human coach. Human coaches, meanwhile, bring qualities technology cannot fully replicate: authentic connection, accountability, trust, and what Shirzad described as Sage contagion, the ability to help another person access a more grounded, curious, and possibility-focused state. This creates an opportunity for augmentation rather than replacement. By allowing AI to support areas where technology excels, coaches can focus more deeply on the human elements of transformation. This session also offered a broader invitation: to consider how coaches can help individuals and organizations navigate exponential change from Sage rather than Saboteur. As Shirzad shared: ***“The work that you and I do is going to become even more crucial.”*** At Positive Intelligence, exploration is already underway. Early development of an AI-enabled version of the PQ app includes testing with a small group of coaches to better understand how AI and human coaching can work together. Coaches shared how they are already using AI for research, writing, marketing, workshops, workflows, and reflection. A key takeaway from this session was that **AI is most useful when it strengthens your own voice, not replaces it**. By giving it context, examples, and feedback, coaches can use AI to simplify work while staying authentic. The session also offered a Sage reframe for marketing. Instead of focusing on *How much content do I need to create?*, Sandy invited coaches to consider: *How can I build trust today?* From that perspective, AI can help simplify the process of showing up consistently, authentically, and in service of the people you most want to help. In September’s Community Expansion session, four PQ Coach Pro members shared how they are experimenting with AI in practical and different ways. From organizing ideas and creating client resources to strengthening coaching follow-up, building visual assets, and streamlining business operations. Across the panel, one message came through clearly: **you don’t need to become an AI expert before you begin**. Start with curiosity, let Sage lead, and explore one useful application at a time. - Synthia shared how she uses AI itself to learn new AI tools, creating personalized learning guides that fit her own learning style. - John demonstrated how AI can turn coaching transcripts into client summaries, action plans, and even feedback on his own coaching, while emphasizing consent, privacy, and human oversight. - Malcolm showed how multiple tools can work together to support research, creativity, and client engagement, while keeping human judgment at the center. - Kevin offered a glimpse of what’s possible further along the journey, using AI as an operating partner that helps manage parts of his business so he can devote more time to human connection. **The takeaway? Start where you are.** Experiment. Protect what matters.
